In my last entry on this blog, I discussed some great uses for affirmations, which included reprogramming with them to undo old thought patterns that might be blocking creative flow to higher expression and manifestation.
Back in the early 90s, I started working with positive affirmations. I found them to be very helpful in my quest to re-discover myself, and to work towards re-creating my life path. I used them, along with meditation, to open my consciousness so I could co-create with my Higher Self. I used affirmations about connecting to my Higher Self, as I came to realize that I only wanted what was best for everyone concerned in all situations, and that since I don’t always know what was best for everyone concerned, I’d better open myself to what God might want for me and my life. I used affirmations such as, “As I am One with the Almight One, so I am One with my Higher Good“. “The Mind that knows how is showing me now. The Mind that knows where is leading me there. The Mind that knows when, will tell me, then!“, “God’s Will, God’s Way, God’s Time, not mine!“
To my surprise, things would change very rapidly when I started to work with affirmations. Many times, things would get better very quickly. But, sometimes, things would seem to go very wrong. Suddenly chaos seemed to ensue. I was confused, thinking that maybe I was doing it all wrong. I could see that suddenly things were moving very quickly in my life, but I didn’t understand why the uncomfortable things were happening, too.
I was tempted to stop using the affirmations, and I spoke to a Unity minister about what was happening. She recommended a book to me that changed my view of life, forever. The book is by Catherine Ponder, and is called, The Dynamic Laws of Healing.
Chapter 12 is titled, Chemicalization, A Healing Process. A quote from the second page of chapter 12 reads:
“Did you ever put soda in an acid fluid and witness the agitation or excited action that took place? One of the substances neutralized the other, and something better resulted from the action, didn’t it?
This is often what happens in the minds and bodies of people when they begin to deliberatly practice the dynamics of right thought. A chemical change literally takes place in their thoughts and feelings, which is then reflected in their bodies and affairs.
They may feel nervous, frightened and agitated. If they have ever been sick, their old diseases may flare up again. If they’ve been morally bad, the old desires and habits may take possession of them again. If they have had previous financial problems, all at once things may seem darker and more hopeless than ever. In their human relationships, it may seem that everybody has turned against them and that inharmony is the order of the day.
What has happened?“
In a nutshell, chemicalization happens! It is a cleansing process that must take place to make room for the new good that is being affirmed. As within so without, so as we cancel out old thought patterns and replace them with right thoughts, the circumstances in our lives will suddenly follow suit!
The first stage of chemicalization is when we start affirming what we would like to see for our growth, and denying limitation. This is the stirring up stage.
The second stage of chemicalization is where the commotion starts. Things are just not stirring, they are shaking and breaking. It may be difficult to keep the faith during these times, so it is even more vital that the affirmations continue to be used, and to even affirm that “s one door shuts, another opens“, and “Everything happens for a reason.“, and that “Vast improvement is on the way!“
Then comes the third stage of chemicalization, in which things suddenly get very quiet. It can be compared to what happens after a natural disaster. After everything is shaken up, and is laying in rubble, the people who experienced it are now staring in disbelief, wondering what happened, and if they will ever be able to pull themselves up again. Yet, many who go through these processes gain much strength, and they find an inner peace, knowing that the rebuilding stage will be just ahead, after they heal from having to let go of what once was. “All is well. I let go what goes!“
Now comes the final stage of chemicalization, which may also seem a bit quiet, at first. This is when the new good begins to appear. A time when we might want to shout it from the mountain tops that our dreams are starting to come true! Yet, this is NOT the time to do such a thing. It is important to keep quiet about what is going on, so as not to disrupt the process from unfolding by the thoughts and opinions of others about your new experience. They will see the results, so be patient with the process. Quietly say to yourself, “Divine fulfillment is mine now. Thank you,(your name for Higher Power)!“
After I read about chemicalization in the book, The Dynamic Laws of Healing, I was relieved to find out what had been going on. I have continued to use positive affirmations, experience chemicalization on many levels, and also see the manifestation of many beautiful desires come true.
So, don’t give up! Brace yourself for chemicalization, and know that the Wisdom of the Universe is showing itself in your life. “I willingly let go of the old, and gladly lay hold of the new. God’s Perfect Will be done, within, through and around me, now and forever!“
Blessings!
